| On 1 January 1982 the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics, Gorton, Connecticut, was awarded the contract to build the USS Tennessee (SSBN 734); her keel was laid 9 June 1986; she was launched 13 December 1986; Delivered 18 November 1988 and commissioned 17 December 1988. |
| Tennessee currently operates with the Atlantic Fleet out of Kings Bay, Georgia. |
