| On 28 February 1975 the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics, Gorton, Connecticut, was awarded the contract to build the USS Michigan (SSBN 727); her keel was laid 4 April 1977; she was launched 26 April 1980; Delivered 28 August 1982 and commissioned 11 September 1982. |
| Michigan currently operates with the Pacific Fleet out of Bangor, Washington. |
