Arthur Alexander Stockhaus

Arthur Alexander Stockhaus was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on August 24, 1887. He enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 8, 1907 for a term of four years. At the time of his enlistment he was assigned to the USS Illinois as a Machinist Mate 2nd Class. On 1 October 1908 he was promoted to the grade of Machinist Mate 1st class. On 7 October 1911, while serving on the USS Dixie, he was Honorably Discharged with the rank of Chief Machinist Mate.

Returning to Worcester, Massachusetts, he began a successful business career opening the first automotive garage in that place. He passed away at the age of 77 in 1965.
